Rita M. Zink, age 87 years of Temperance, MI, died Friday, March 26, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born May 21, 1922 in Erie Twp., Michigan, she was the daughter of Paul A. and Anna J. (Kessler) LaVoy. A 1940 graduate of Monroe High School, she married Robert Zink on August 3, 1940. He preceded her in death on November3, 2009. Rita was proud homemaker, but during WWII she was employed by Monroe Auto Equipment in Temperance, where they manufactured service pins for veterans of WWII. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Bedford Senior Center and charter member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, where she was active in the Ministry of Praise and funeral luncheon committee.

Surviving are her loving children, Mary (James) Karl, David (Deborah) Jeffery (Holly), Robert (Rita), Michael (Joanne), Thomas Zink, Brother, Paul LaVoy 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Lester and Jesse LaVoy and Raymond Etzel and 2 sisters, Marie Schaefer and Agnes Grochowski.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 pm Sunday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where she will lie in state after 12:00 Noon. Scripture service will be held Sunday at 7:00 pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Jeff, Tonya, and Jessica. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society. ere
