Chester
“Chet” H. Zink, 82 years of Temperance,
MI, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 in
Flower Hospital. Born Jan. 21, 1923 in Toledo,
OH, he was the son of Norman and Anna
(Burke) Zink. Chet was a 1942 graduate
of
the former
Temperance High School. He served his
country in the US Air Force during WWII,
and was
shot down and held as a POW for 13
months in Germany. He married Ferne Kinney on July
5, 1945 in the First Baptist Church in
Temperance. Chet was employed in quality
control for
the former Sharon Manufacturing in
Lambertville for over 20 years, retiring
in 1987. Prior,
he worked for the former American Lincoln
Flooring for 25 years.
Surviving
are his loving wife of 60 years, Ferne.
Children, Diana (Larry) Sayre of Valdosta,
Georgia and Gary (Marla) Zink of Ottawa
Lake, MI, Brother, Robert (Rita)
Zink of Temperance, 5 grandchildren and
9 great
grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by his parents and brother, Ray Zink.
Visitation and services will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Bedford Alliance
