Frank
J. Winkler, age 81 years of Temperance,
MI, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Hospice
of Northwest Ohio, Toledo , OH . Born August
22, 1925 in Toledo , OH , he was the son
of Clemence and Julia (Czaja) Winkler. A
WWII Army veteran, Frank received 2 purple
hearts a bronze star. He married Eileen
Gaynier on Oct. 23, 1948 in St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Erie , MI . Frank was employed
for 10 years by Carter Lumber in Toledo,
retiring in 1996. Prior, he owned and operated
the Ottawa Inn in Ottawa Lake , MI from
1955-1970, was employed by the former Mayfair
Lumber for 20 years and was also a vendor
at the Farmer's Market in Toledo. His memberships
include Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic
Church in Temperance, Life member of the
V.F.W., #3925, Erie and the in Monroe, MI.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Eileen Winkler. Sons,
Frank (Sue) Winkler of Toledo , OH and
Doug (Debbie) Winkler of Lambertville,
MI. Brothers, Stanley (Georgia) Winkler
of Deerfield, MI, Joseph (Rose Marie)
Winkler of Sand Springs, OK and Daniel
(Linda) Winkler of Las Vegas, NV. Sisters,
Bernadette Moralas of TN and Roseanne
(Vern) Williamson of Milton, FL. 6 grandchildren,
Tammy (John) Pandi, Kim Pratt, kristy
(Terry) Copic, Dustin Winkler, Frank Winkler,
III, and Jaymee Lado. Great Grandchildren,
Marcades, Mariah, Samantha, Alec and Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his great
grandson, Devon Alvarez, 2 brothers, Clemence
& August Winkler. 2 Sisters, Francis
Stone & Mildred Nitschke.
Visitation
will be from 3-9 pm Thursday at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road,
Temperance, MI, where VFW services will
be held Thursday at 7:00 pm followed by
scripture services at 7:30 pm . Funeral
services will be held Friday at 9:15 am
in the Funeral home followed by Mass of
Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
Catholic Church at 10:00 am . Fr. Daniel
Nusbaum, officiating. Interment will follow
at St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie, MI.
Memorials may be made ot the V.F.W., #3925,
Erie or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The
family wishes to thank Hospice of Northwest
Ohio, especially, Mark, Jeff, Paul, Courtney
and everyone who helped in the care of
Frank and gave support to Eileen.
