| Lois J. Winkelman, age 71 years of Luna Pier, MI, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2008 in the University of Toledo Medical Center. Born Feb. 9, 1937 in Luna Pier, MI, she was the daughter of Neiland and Mary (Steger) Perry. A 1954 graduate of Monroe High School, she married Jerald W. Winkelman, Sr. on Aug. 18, 1956 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, MI, where she was a member. Lois was employed by the Mason Consolidated Schools in Erie, MI for 23 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Water Tower Park Senior Citizens Elders in Luna Pier, MI. Lois enjoyed traveling, shopping, casinos and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her loving husband of 52 years, Jerald. Children, Jerald (Jane) Winkelman, Jr. of Luna Pier, MI, Mark (Ursula) Winkelman of Maumee, OH, Cindy (Randy) Stark of Lambertville, MI, Brian (Kimarie) Winkelman of Dundee, MI, Connie Jacobs of Luna Pier, MI and Jill (Randy) Dewey of Lambertville, MI. Brother, Terry (Elaine) Perry of Perrysburg, OH. Sisters, Loris Jenkins and Rose (Michael) Laderach, both of Luna Pier, MI. Grandchildren, Ryan, Hayley, Kara, Kaylynn, Derek, Kirstin, Zoe, Kelsey, Anna, Emily, Kelly, Logan, Teegan, Michelle and Kyle and great grandson, Ashton. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey and her parents.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Fr. Fred Kalaj, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Program at the University of Toledo.
