| Joan
Valentine,
age 77 years of Temperance, MI, died Thursday,
August 02, 2007 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical
Center. Born June 26, 1930 in Toledo, OH,
she was the daughter of Stanley and Genevieve
(Krzyzaniak) Ratajczak. A graduate of Central
Catholic School in Toledo, OH, she married
Stanley “Russ” Valentine on Feb. 6, 1951
in Erie, MI. He preceded her in death on
Jan. 30, 1996. Joan was employed as a bookkeeper
& office manager by the former Colonial
Builders in Toledo for 24 years, retiring
in 1993. She then worked as a register for
the A.R.C.A. in Temperance. She was a charter
member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic
Church in Temperance, MI.
Surviving
are her loving children, Richard Valentine
of North Charleston, SC, Ann (Edward) Eddinger
of Lincoln, MI, Julie Valentine of Marysville,
WA, John (Marcia) Valentine of Plymouth,
MI, Karen (Richard) Wolniewicz of Temperance,
MI and Ellen ( Douglas ) DuVall of Monroe,
MI. Brother, Raymond (Katherine) Ratajczak
of Toledo, OH. Sister, Frances (Fred) Laker
of Fairfax, VA. 7 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren.
Visitation
will be 2-8 pm Sunday at the Michael W.
Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at
Jackman) Temperance, MI., where scripture
services will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral
services will be held Monday at 9:45 am
in the funeral home with Mass of Christian
Burial following at 10:30 am at Our Lady
of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance,
MI. Interment will follow in the church
cemetery.
