Bernard B. Uhl “BB” age 89 years of Lambertville, MI, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Mercy Memorial Nursing Care Center, Monroe, MI.  Born Aug. 29, 1919 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Clement and Clara (Terveer) Uhl.  A US Army veteran of WWII, he married Margaret Laskey on June 5, 1943 in Rosary Cathedral, Toledo, OH.  She preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2006.  Bernard retired as plant manager of Toledo Metal Furniture after 40 years of service.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI and the Knights of Columbus, Council, in Toledo, OH. Bernard was an avid stamp collector and fisherman and a sailboat enthusiast.

Surviving are his loving children, Dorothy Zimmerman of Toledo, OH, Barbara Harris of Temperance, MI, James Uhl of Lambertville, MI, Michael (Tonda) Uhl of Holland, OH and Robert (Karen) Uhl of Shaker Heights, OH.  Sisters, Patricia Harvey of Temperance, MI, Betty Mueller of Temperance, MI and Philip (Betty) Uhl of Luna Pier, MI.  15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where he will lie in state after 9:30 am.  Fr. Stephen Rooney, officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of memorials, BB would have preferred that you spend the time or money on your family in his memory as family was the most important thing to him. Or you may send a donation in his name to Mercy Memorial Hospice, Monroe, MI or St. John’s Jesuit High School.
