George
“Jack” Thompson, age 77 years of Temperance,
MI, died Monday, July 09, 2007 in his home.
Born July 20, 1929 in Toledo, OH, he was
the son of George and Margaret (Reardon)
Thompson. A 1947 graduate of Woodward High
School, he served in the US Air Force during
the Korean War. He married Ruth Alverman
on Oct. 18, 1950 at Immanuel Lutheran Church
in Toledo, OH. Jack retired in 1988 from
AmeriSource Pharmaceutical as the C.E.O./General
Manager after 30 years of service. He was
an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran
Church in Temperance, where he served on
church council, the building committee and
was a Bethel Bible Teacher.
Jack
is survived by his loving wife, Ruth. Children,
David V. Alverman of Ottawa Lake, MI, George
S. (Joann) Thompson of Ottawa Lake, MI,
Timothy J. (Kathryn) Thompson of Lambertville,
MI, Tina (Doug) Manore of Ottawa Lake, MI,
Susan (Dale) Manore of Temperance, MI, Jennifer
A. (Rudy) Ondrus of Lambertville, MI and
Mary Rose (Ed) Kulczak of Grover, MO and
21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steven
Paul Thompson, Brother, James Thompson,
Daughter in law, Janet Alverman and granddaughter,
Sarah Alverman.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-9 pm
at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640
Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 11:00 am
at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Temperance,
where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.
Pastor Frank Paine, officiating. Interment
will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran
Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The
family wishes to express a special thank
you to his nurses, Carol and Roberta and
the Hospice organization.
