“Pete” Swierczek, age 81 years of Bedford
Twp., MI, died Saturday, November 4, 2006
in the Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania,
OH. Born Jan. 5, 1925 in Sanok, Poland,
he was the son of Anthony and Valerie Swierczek.
A veteran of the British 8 th Army, he married
Iris Palmer on Sept. 20, 1952 in London,
England. Pete was an engineer for Owens
Illinois for 29 years, retiring in March
31, 1985. He was a member of St. Matthew's
Episcopal Church in Toledo, WBCCI, Golden
Emblem Club of Owens-Illinois, Masonic Triad
Lodge, #708, F. &A.M., and Eastern Star,
391, Samaria, where he had been past worthy
patron twice.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Iris. Daughters, Denise
(David) Case and Janine (Dean) Vollmar,
both of Temperance, MI. Grandchildren, Carol
(Randall, II) Perry, Douglas Case, Freya
and Alina Vollmar. Great grandchildren,
Randall, III, Tyler and Dylan Perry. Pete
was preceded in death by his parents and
2 sisters.
Visitation
will be held Tuesday from 2-9 pm at the
Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith
Rd., (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where
Masonic services will be held Tuesday at
7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday
at 11:00 St. Matthew's Episcopal Church
in Toledo, where he will lie in state after
10:00 am. Interment will follow at Toledo
Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH .
