| William
“Bill” Steinman, age 67 years of Monroe,
MI and formerly of Erie, MI, died, Tuesday,
July 24, 2007 in his home. Born April 14,
1940 in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Rita
Emma Lillian Steinman. Bill married Barbara
A. Frank on June 27, 1959 in Ida, MI. He
was employed as a driver for Lake Erie Transit
in Monroe, MI for 9 years, retiring in 1993.
Prior he worked for Riker Manufacturing
for 30 years. Bill was an active member
of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Temperance,
MI, where he had served on church council
several terms. He was a Troop Leader for
the Boy Scouts of America for Pack #793,
Mt. Carmel Church in Temperance and also
Troop 799 in Erie, MI.
Surviving
are his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara.
Sons, David (Jenny) Steinman of Toledo,
OH and Glen Steinman of Monroe, MI. Daughters,
Diane Steinman of Toledo, OH, Alice (Gale)
Fisher of Toledo, OH and Mary Lynn Steinman
of Monroe, MI. Brother, Michael (Carolyn)
Meyer of Luna Pier, MI. Sisters, Linda (Paul)
Gerard of Luna Pier, MI, Eleanor (Tony)
Bayer of Luna Pier, MI and Lorraine (George)
Webber of Temperance, MI. 7 grandchildren,
Wesley, Phillip, Thomas, Kimberlee, Jon,
Riley and Grace. He was preceded in death
by his mother, Father in law, Mother in
law, a baby brother, sister, Mary Lou Taylor
in July of 2006 and his brother Lewis Wohlfeil
on July 14, 2007. Visitation will be Friday
from 2-9 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral
Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance,
MI.
Funeral
services will be held Saturday at 11:00
am at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Temperance,
where he will lie in state after 10:00 am.
Pastor Frank Paine, officiating. Interment
will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle,
MI. The family would like to thank the doctors,
nurses, The Alexis Rd. Dialysis nurses for
how well they have taken care of Bill. Also
to other family & friends for all they
have done.
