Angela
T. Simmons, age 84 years of Temperance,
MI, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 in Hospice
of Northwest Ohio, Toledo , OH . Born May
31, 1922 in Cleveland , OH , she was the
daughter of Joseph and Emily (Lehky) Hrouda.
Angela attended Holy Family grade school
and graduated from John Hay High School
, both in Cleveland , OH . She married Lloyd
V. Simmons on May 29, 1954 at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Cleveland , OH She was
employed by Bedford Public Schools for 17
years as a media specialist & secretary,
retiring in 1987. Prior, she worked in accounting
for Ohio Bell in Cleveland for 15 years.
Angela was a charter member of Our Lady
of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance,
where she was active in the Keen-Agers and
worked funeral luncheons. She was also a
member of the Bedford Senior Center and
R.S.V.P. She
enjoyed golf, bowling, knitting, crocheting,
counted cross stitch and quilting.
Surviving
are her husband, Lloyd. Sons, Bryan (Ninette)
Simmons of Temperance, MI and James (Marcia)
Simmons of Margate , FL. Daughter, Candace
(Kevin) Hagerty of Weston, FL. Grandchildren,
Dustin, Jessica & Alexander Simmons,
Jenna, Alyssa, Dayna & Kyle Hagerty.
Sisters, Ann VanDyke of West Lake, OH, Teresa
Setele, of Cleveland, OH Rose Black, of
Atlanta, GA and Barbara Roney of Cannonsburg,
PA. Brother, Albert Hrouda of Lansing, MI.
She was preceded in death by her sisters,
Bertha Cross, Mary Berwick, Christine Mares,
Emily Setele and brother, Joe Hrouda.
Visitation
will be from 3-9 p.m. Friday at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at
Jackman) Temperance, MI where scripture
services will be held Friday at 7:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday
at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic
Church, where she will lie in state after
10:00 am. Fr. Daniel Nusbaum, officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest
Ohio or the charity of the donor's choice.
Our
family feels most fortunate for being able
to avail Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo
for the wonderful caring specialist to administer
to Angela in her final days. (Just like
family in a home away from home.) Our heartfelt
thanks in particular to Dr. Paul, Rachel,
Laura, Susan, Judy & Diane.
