The Lord called home one of his faithful angels, Edna Lucille Schoch passed into heaven Saturday August 16, 2008 after suffering from Alzheimer’s disease surrounded by her loving family.A long time resident of Lambertville, Michigan, Edna was born July 8, 1927 to Albert and Laura (Gerhardt) Shedron in Weston, Ohio. She was a graduate of  Scott High School and  Macomber-Whitney Vocational School.  She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at the former Mellowcraft Co. and Champion Spark Plug.She met and married the love of her life, Richard W. Schoch on February 2, 1952; they were married 52 years until his death in 2004.  They had five children and Edna was a stay at home Mom.  She returned to work for the family business Schoch Plumbing and Heating, Inc. and retired in 1990. Edna was a member of The Order of Eastern Stars, Samaria Chapter # 391 where she held many offices and was Worthy Matron in 1967. Her faith meant everything to her and she lived it daily.  Edna was an active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Temperance, especially working with the Comforters making Quilts that were shipped overseas and given to those in need.  Most of all Edna was a devoted wife and Mother. Nothing was dearer to her than her family.
Surviving are her children, daughters Nancy (Jeff) Walles, Joyce and Karen Schoch, Sons, Richard C (Carol) and William (Mary Jo) Schoch. Grandchildren Jennifer and J.J. Walles, Richard (Ashley), Ryan (Katie Bleim) and Miranda Schoch, Betsy, Becky, Billy and Bobby Schoch. Great Grandson Richard Aiden Schoch and many nieces and nephews.  Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard W. Schoch, granddaughters Anna and Angela Schoch, brothers Paul and James Shedron, sisters, Burnace Spitler, Alberta King, Doris Sautter-Jimison, Grace Sautter-Wheeler and Margaret Smithiesler.
We will be forever grateful for Mom’s caretakers granddaughter Jennifer Walles and Derina Croskey. Special thanks to Dr. Deborah Guntsch and Pro Medica Hospice nurses Jill, Jackie, Connie, Joanne and Amber.Visitation will be held at Michael Pawlak Funeral Home, Temperance, Michigan on Tuesday from 3-9 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Temperance. Pastor Frank Paine will officiate. St. Luke’s Women will provide a luncheon after the service. Interment will be private at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania. The family requests that any contributions in Edna’s name be directed to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. 1690 Sterns Rd. Temperance, MI 48182 or the Monroe County Humane Society.
