Effie Schmidt, age 80 formerly of Ottawa
Lake, MI, died Monday, July 14, 2008 at
The Toledo Hospital. Born July 15, 1927
in Breman, IN, she was the daughter of Ernest
and Verbena (Knuth) Greene. She married
Christian January 12, 1946 . He preceded
her in death Jan. 14, 1994. Darlene was
a member of CrossRoads Community Church
in Ottawa Lake, MI, and a life member of
the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion in
Swanton, OH. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting
and reading.
She
is survived by her loving children, Christine
(Bradley) Cobourne of Toledo, OH, Darrel
(Beverly) Schmidt of Petersburg, MI, Cheryl
(Thomas) Gigax of Delta, OH, Duane Schmidt
of Petersburg, MI, Catherine Maag of Toledo,
OH and Candace (Richard) Gensler of Brooklyn,
MI. Sisters, Geraldine (Robert) Knaggs of
Blissfield, MI, Jean (Charles) Schmidlin
of Lambertville, MI, Joan Porter of Samaria,
MI and Jean Frank of Blissfield, MI. Brother,
William Greene of Monroe, MI. 26 grandchildren
and 40 great grandchildren. Darlene was
also preceded in death by her son, David
Schmidt.
Visitation
will be from 2-9 pm Wednesday at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at
Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services
will be held Thursday at 11:00 am. Interment
will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
