Clara E. Schmidt, age 97 years of Temperance, MI, died Friday, November 07, 2008 in her home.  Born July 23, 1911 in Ottawa Lake, MI, she was the daughter of Henry and Lorana May (Daniels) Bollinger. She married Frederick R. Schmidt on Dec. 20, 1926 and celebrated 72 years of marriage before he died in 1998.  A loving and devoted Christian, wife, mother, Clara enjoyed baking, gardening, quilting and a yahtzee club with her friends.  She was an active faithful Christian member of the First Baptist Church of Temperance, MI for over 50 years. 

Surviving are her loving children, Mary Segur, Lawrence Schmidt, Velda Seger, Norman Schmidt, Raymond (Eileen) Schmidt, Arnold (Joyce) Schmidt, Donna (Sonny) Eighmey, Janet May, Myron “Windy” (Judy) Seger and Darlene (Jim) Buehler.  36 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and 34 great great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by 6 grandson, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 2 daughter in laws and 2 son in laws.
