John E. Patterson,
age 82 years of Temperance, MI, died Saturday,
May 24, 2008 at The Toledo Hospital. Born
Aug. 24, 1925 in Wauseon, OH, he was the
son of Robert and Alice ( Barnes ) Patterson.
A WWII Army veteran, John married Donna
Borton on Sept. 10, 1945 in Fulton County,
OH. He was employed by General Mills as
a millwright for 30 years, retiring in 1987.
John attended the Lambertville United Methodist
Church and enjoyed traveling the world with
his wife, visiting all of the 50 states.
He also was an avid gardener and followed
the political news. John also loved to fly,
having obtained a private pilot license
years ago.
He
is survived by his loving wife of 62 years,
Donna. Children, Wayne (Theresa) Patterson
of Sydney, Australia, Phyllis (Randy) Tompkins
of Temperance, MI, and Leslie (Nancy) Paterson
of Casa Grande, AZ. Brother, Dale (Kay)
Patterson of Clemons, NC. Sisters, Rosemary
Lind of Wauseon, OH, Annabelle Reed of San
Diego, CA, Betty Brown of Dearborn, MI,
Clair Berrington of Palmyra, VA and Virginia
Patterson of Oregon, OH and 4 grandchildren
and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation
will be held from 3-8 pm Tuesday at the
Michael W. Pawlak
Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman)
Temperance, MI, where funeral services will
be held Wednesday at 3:30 pm. Interment
private.
