Robert  “Nick” A. Nichter, age 87 of Erie, MI, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009 in West Toledo Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Born August 31, 1922 in Maumee, OH, he was the son of Charles and Margaret (Terns) Nichter.  A US Army veteran of WWII, he married Dorothy J. Vossberg on Dec. 1, 1962 in Maumee, OH.  Nick worked as a security guard and in trailer sales, retiring in 1972. He enjoyed fishing, card tricks and telling jokes. 

Surviving are his loving wife, Dorothy.  Sisters, Ellen Farley of Perrysburg, OH and Ann Dullinger of Temperance, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Vincent, Thomas and Charles Nichter and Sisters, Sr. Mary Marjorie Nichter and Margaret Rooks. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. ( at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
