Phyllis
McMacken-Maschke, 84 years of Blissfield
, MI and formerly of Temperance, MI, died
Tuesday, December 13, 2005 in Flower Hospital
, Sylvania , OH . Born Dec. 7, 1921 in
Hudson , MI , she was the daughter of
Willard and Mabel (Osborn) Harriman. She
married Jack C. McMacken on Oct. 14, 1944
. He preceded her in death on July 1,
1999 . She then married Arthur Maschke
on July 6, 2000 . He preceded her in death
on April 28, 2005 . Phyllis received her
Bachelors of Science from the University
of Toledo. She was employed by the Bedford
High School for 23 years, retiring in
1984. While at Bedford High School , where
Phyllis was known to many as “Mom” she
taught home economics, math, science,
driver's education, was student activities
director, cheerleading advisor, student
council advisor, and class advisor.
She
is survived by her loving children, James
(Linda) McMacken of AuGres, MI, Ellen
(George) Bacon of Lambertville, MI and
Karen (John) Adamski of Temperance, MI.
Brother, Charles (Esther) Harriman of
Hampstead , NC and 10 grandchildren, on
whom she had a tremendous impact. She
was also preceded in death her son, John
C. McMacken.

W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd.
(at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral
services will be held Saturday at 11:00
am. Rev. Dr. Rodney K. Haselhuhn, pastor
of St. Paul 's Lutheran Church in Temperance,
officiating. Interment will follow in
Ottawa Hills Memorial Park . Memorials
may be made to the Bedford Senior High
School .
