| Ursula McCloskey, age 86 of Toledo, OH, died Tuesday, November 04, 2008 at Hickory Ridge of Temperance. Born October 14, 1922 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Rosenberger) Coombs. A 1940 graduate of Central Catholic High school, she married Paul J. McCloskey on May 18, 1946 in Toledo, OH. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1969. Ursula received her Bachelor’s of Science in 1978 and Masters in Education in 1984, both from the University of Toledo. She was employed by the Toledo Board of Education for 17 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society, American Association of University Women, Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post 468, F.O.E., #197. Ursula was also an usher at the Stranahan Theater and a volunteer for the University of Toledo Medical Center for several years. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts and was also a professional seamstress. She was a world traveler, traveling to such places as Russia, China, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Africa and Amazon Cruise. Surviving are her loving children, Maureen (John) Zraik of Stow, OH, Nancy (Timothy) Burket of Ave Maria, FL and Paul “Marty” (Debbie) McCloskey of Temperance, MI. 9 grandchildren, Paul, Andrew, Sean, Todd, Adam, Mickey, Alan, Philip, Ian and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where the Rosary will be prayed Friday at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 am in the funeral home with Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am at St. Clement Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Fr. Ray Fisher and Staff at St. Francis of Green Springs, OH and Hospice of Northwest Ohio and a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hickory Ridge of Temperance for the excellent care given to Ursula during her illness.
