Marilyn L. Malkuian,- Smith, age 52 years of Toledo, OH, died Sunday, August 17, 2008 in her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born Oct. 14, 1955 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Samuel and Dora M. (Cox) Malkuian.  A 1974 graduate from Libbey High School, Marilyn was employed as a therapeutic program worker for Northwestern Ohio Developmental Center for the past 8 years.  She loved working with the mentally challenged.

Surviving are her husband, Dennis Smith.  Daughter, Monique Rivers.  Granddaughters, Makayla Brown and Timmyrah Lampkin. Sisters, Helen Crego and Margaret (James) Bauknecht.  Brothers, Samuel (Eleanor), John (Darlene) and Michael (Mary Ann) Malkiuan and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held from 2-9 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.  A special thanks to all the staff at St. Anne Hospital, her co-workers at NODC and the Smith family for the care and support they gave during Marilyn’s illness.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
