Helen L. Madison, age 81 years of Temperance, MI, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Hickory Ridge of Temperance.  Born July 16, 1927 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Jack and Ada (Hollingsead) Fay.  She married Edward A. Madison on May 31, 1947 in Toledo, OH.  He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 2002.  Helen was employed in accounts payable at Owens Corning for 8 years, retiring in 1975.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI.  Helen could do anything with a needle and thread, was a devote catholic, loved to play cards and spend time with her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Rich.

Surviving are her loving children, Susan (Arthur) Montrie- Haft of Temperance, MI, James (Nancy) Madison of Maumee, OH and Kathryn (Richard) Rich-Barnes of Toledo, OH.  11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Tuesday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am.  Entombment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and Erie West Hospice.   The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Northest Ohio, Erie West Hospice and Hickory Ridge of Temperance.
