Paul R. Lezon, 64 years, of Lambertville, MI, went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 19, 2004, in St. Anne Mercy Hospital, Toledo, after overcoming many years of health obstacles. Born August 3, 1939, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Walter M. and Mary E. Lezon. A U.S. Army Veteran, he married Doris Sass on June 9, 1962, in Toledo, with whom he recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Paul was employed as a surveyor for Mannik & Smith, Inc. in Toledo for 30 years, retiring in 1995.  Paul had a kind and gentle spirit. His optimistic nature, in spite of his numerous years of health problems, was an inspiration to all those around him. Paul, who was grateful for every day that the Lord gave him, will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, neighbor, and friend. We will miss him dearly.  He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Temperance and had been active with the Bedford Athletic Boosters during the 1980's. Paul had enjoyed golf, bowling, football, and traveling.

Surviving are his loving wife, Doris; children, Michelle (Joseph) Scazzero, Todd (Vicki) Lezon, and Jeffrey (Cynthia) Lezon; grandchildren, Ann Marie and Sara Scazzero, Emily, Maxwell, Matthew, and Nicole Lezon; sister-in-law, Patricia Lezon. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Ronald Lezon.

Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. where he will lie in state after 1:00 p.m., Dr. Frank Paine, officiating. Interment will follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Music Fund at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Bedford Fire Department, Monroe County Sheriff, as well as the numerous physicians and nurses whose care and compassion is greatly appreciated.
