Leo
“Skip” J. Lehman, Jr. age 66 years of Lambertville,
MI and formerly of Baltimore , Maryland
, died Wednesday. October 24, 2007 in his
home surrounded by his family. Born April
7, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the
son of Leo J. and Mary G. (Bedner) Lehman,
Sr. Skip served his country in the US Navy
as a Navy SEAL during the Viet Nam War.
During his 2 ½ tours, he earned the
good conduct medal, National Defense Service
Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation,
being honorably discharged after 13 years
as a Lieutenant. Skip earned both his Bachelors
in Electrical Engineering and Masters in
Nuclear Engineering from the University
of Washington, where he also played football
for the Huskies. He was employed by Detroit
Edison (Fermi II) as a project manager for
12 years, retiring in 2000. After his retirement,
Skip worked as a private consultant for
several nuclear facilities.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Gloria and daughter,
Wendy (Jerry) Smith, both of Lambertville,
MI. Brother in law, Robert (Jackie) Stewart
of Toledo, OH.
Visitation
will be held from 3-9 pm Friday at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road,
Temperance, MI, where funeral services will
be held Saturday at 10:00 am. Pastor Jerry
Craig, officiating. Memorials may be made
to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
