Lewis M. Lawrence, 88 years of Temperance, MI, died peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg Twp., OH surrounded by his loving family. Born May 1, 1917 in Mansfield, OH, he was the son of Samuel and Bessie (Hurlbert) Lawrence. Lewis was employed by Mason Consolidated Schools in Erie, MI for 26 years until his retirement. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and poppie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Dorothy (Finch) Lawrence. Daughters, Tracie (Chris) McNutt of Temperance, MI, Amie Godinez of Winnemucca, NV, Colleen (Bert) Parker of Toledo, Carol (Kenneth) Kay of Toledo, and Linda (Ralph) Hohn of Temperance, MI. Sister, Evelyn (Ed) Gayheart of Lexington, OH. Brother, Eugene (Goldie) Lawrence of Willard, OH, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ethel, Ruth, and Ruby and brother, Bud Lawrence.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-6:30 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, where funeral services will follow at 6:30 pm. Rev. Dr. Frank Paine, officiating. Private interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
