Donald L. Kleinert, 71 years of Lambertville, MI, died Monday, September 28, 2009 in his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born August 2, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Clarence and Lillian (Shultz) Kleinert.  A 1956 graduate of Woodward High School, he married Sherry L. Lake on Jan. 27, 1989 in Toledo, OH.  Donald was employed as a cutter/grinder for GM Powertrain for 37 years, retiring in 1997.  He was a member of the U.A.W., Local 14 in Toledo, OH. Donald devoted his life to serving the Lord, his family and a wide circle of friends. He was an active member of the Bedford Church of the Nazarene, where he was a greeter, led bible studies, and mentored many new believers.  He was an avid lover of all things sports, especially the Detroit Tigers and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sherry.  Children, Tom Kleinert, Tony Kleinert, Amy (Jason) Gorr and David (Mindy) Shaner.  Brothers, Jerry (Geri) Kleinert and Jim (Gail) Kleinert. Sister in laws, Midge Lake and Susie (Mark) Perry. Brother in law, David (Linda) Lake .  7 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bob Kleinert and  sister, Shirley Smith.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Thursday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am.  Pastor Vince Flippo, officiating.  Memorials may be made to Bedford Church of the Nazarene, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or MDA.
