| Elnorah “Ellie” Ann Kabchef, age 85 years of Bedford Twp, MI, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Windhaven Elderly Care Center, Temperance, MI. Born March 14, 1923 in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of Lemoine and Lucille (Squires) Hoffman. A 19 41 graduate of Whitmer High School, she married Robert G. Kabchef on May 25, 1943. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2003. Elnorah was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI, Rebekah Lodge in Lambertville, MI, Bedford Artist Club and an active member of the Bedford Senior Center. She had also taught oil painting for several years and won several awards in local area art shows.Surviving are her children, Robert (Elise) Kabchef of Visalia, CA and Diane (David) Halbert of Lambertville, MI. Brothers, George Hoffman of Toledo, OH and Thomas (Dianna) Hoffman of Temperance, MI. Sister, Sr. Carol Hoffman of New Orleans, Louisiana. 5 grandchildren, Tony, Todd, Alisa, Greta and Matthew and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Hoffman and sister, Joanne Blaida.Friends may call from 3-9 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bedford Senior Center or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
