Cloyd “JR.”
Houke age 79 years of Temperance, MI, died
Friday,
December 8, 2006 in Kingston Care Center
of Sylvania. Born June 23, 1927 in Toledo,
OH, he was the son of Cloyd E. and Myrtle
M. (Reed) Houke. A WWII Navy veteran, he
married Augusta “Jean” Smith on July 31,
1948 in the Trilby United Methodist Church
in Toledo, where he was a member. Cloyd
was employed by the Spicer Division of the
Dana Corporation for 33 years, retiring
in 1986. He was also a member of the U.A.W.,
Local 12 in Toledo, OH. Cloyd enjoyed his
cottage and spending time outdoors, including
hunting, fishing, wood carving and watching
the Michigan Wolverine's Football Team.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Jean. Daughter, Linda
Westfall of Temperance, MI and Claudia (Paul)
Siemieracki of Petersburg, MI. Brothers,
Jack Houke of Toledo, OH and Samuel (Margaret)
Houke of Temperance, MI. Sisters, Margaret
(Bob) Graham of Toledo, OH, Delores Lindquist
of Toledo, OH, Lillian (Jack) Cadaret of
Temperance, MI, and Patricia Trychel of
Temperance, MI. 9 grandchildren, Cela (Rick)
Hart, Cecil Beasley, III, Tiffany Beasley,
Stephanie Siemieracki, Timothy (Cheryl)
Westfall, Gregory (Amanda) Westfall, Joseph
(Paula) Westfall, Vicki (Tony) McGreevey
and Christopher (Teresa) Westfall and 18
great grandchildren.
Visitation
will be held Monday from 4-9 pm at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Roa ,
Temperance, MI, where funeral services will
be held Tuesday at 10:00 am . Pastor Waverly
Earley of Trilby United Methodist Church
will officiate. Interment will follow at
Whiteford Union Cemetery , Whiteford Twp.,
MI. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
