JMargaret E. Holmes, age 90 years of Monroe, MI, died Friday, August 29, 2008 at Medilodge of Monroe, MI.  Born Feb. 18, 1918 in Flanagan, IL, she was the daughter of William and Emma (Doden) Durie.  A graduate of Payne High School in Payne, OH, she married Thomas C. Holmes on March 17, 1951.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1991.  She worked for the Monroe Intermediate School District for several years.

She is survived by her loving children, Gary (Kris) Kipker of Payne, OH, Pamela (Tom) Brannen of Tampa, FL, Mary K. Faryniarz of Monroe, MI, Thomas (Millie) Holmes of Payne, OH, and Phil (Linda) Holmes of Temperance, MI. Sister, Eileen Wiederanders of IL. 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Holmes and 3 brothers. 

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-9 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 pm.  Pastor Andrew Edwards, III, officiating.  Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to ARC of Monroe.
