Bill G. Hintz, age 69 years of Ida, MI, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 in his home. Born April 2, 1940 in Holland, OH, he was the son of Fred and Margaret (McGraw) Hintz. A US Air Force Veteran, he married Fran A. Frey on Sept. 22, 1979. He was a machine repairman at GM Powertrain for 20 years, retiring in Jan. of 2007. Prior he worked for the Spicer Division of the Dana Corporation for 22 years. He was also a member of the U.A.W., Local 14 in Toledo. Bill loved hiking, backpacking, fishing, boating, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his loving wife, Fran. Children Bill (Hope) Hintz, Lea (Eddie) Ney , Tony (Julie) Ostrowski and Nicole (Shawn) Trimmer. Brother, Robert (Dorothy) Hintz. Sister, Nancy (Ken) Ingram. Grandchildren, Sandra, Chris, Phillip, Tyler, Braden, Ashlen, Logan, Devin, Courtney and Alex. Great grandchildrem Eris and Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Virginia Gun and Irene Floring.
Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Tuesday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
