Gerald “Jerry” W. Hearst, age 65 years of Erie, MI, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 in his home.  Born Sept. 4, 1944 in Steele, Missouri, he was the son of Eulas and Wanda (James) Hearst.  A US Army veteran, he married Joan Wolfe in Nov. of 1961.  She preceded him in death in Feb. of 1998.   Gerald was employed for the Chrysler Corporation (Jeep) for over 20 years, retiring in 2006.  He was a motorsports enthusiast and enjoyed working on cars. 

Surviving are his loving children, William Hearst and Christine (Jeff) Tooley.  Mother, Wanda Hearst.  Brothers, Tommy Hearst and Stephen (Marilyn) Hearst.  6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Jerry was preceded in death by his father and 2 brothers,  Ray and Bruce Hearst.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow at Erie Union Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
