| Donald “Don” R. Garner, age 73 years of Toledo, OH, died Monday, September 1, 2008 in Flower Hospital. Born March 8, 1935 in Brilliant, Alabama, he was the son of Edward and Aslene (Dickinson) Garner. He retired from GM Powertrain in Toledo after 33 years of service. He was a member of UAW, Local 14. He enjoyed going to the race track, salmon fishing, and partying with his friends.
He is survived by his son, Charles Garner of Florida. Sisters, Clair Phillip of Petersburg, MI and Betty O’Neil of Roseville, MI. Brother, John (Deana) Garner of Petersburg, MI. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Garner.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3-9 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
