| Delbert “Del” E. Freeman, age 77 years of Petersburg, MI, died September 24, 2008 in Aspen Grove Assisted Living, Lambertville, MI. Born April 27, 1931 in Dora, Missouri, he was the son of Houston and Emma (Durhm). A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he married June Cole on June 9, 1951. Del was employed for 41 years starting at Nash on the production line, retiring as production manager for the Jeep Stamping Division in 1991.
Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, June. Children, Debra (Eugene) Lamb of Camp Lake, WI and Wayne (Jennifer) Freeman of Petersburg, MI. Grandchildren, Tanya, Jason, Dawn, Wayne and Alicia. Great grandchildren, Taylar, Molly, Caleb and Isabella. Brother, Donald (Earlene) Freeman of Dora, Missouri. Del was preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Freeman and sister, Goldie Sanders.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am Saturday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to Erie West Hospice. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Aspen Grove and Erie West Hospice for the care and compassion given to them and Delbert during his illness.
