| Victor J. Floyd, age 61 years of Temperance and formerly of Erie, MI, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in his home. Born January 18, 1947 in Toledo, Oh, he was the son of Clifford and Angela (Stern) Floyd. A US Army veteran of the Viet Nam War, he married Deborah J. Dusseau on Oct. 23, 1970 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI, where he was a member. He was a truck driver for over 40 years, retiring from USF Holland this past July. He previously drove for Jones Transfer. Victor was a member of the VFW, #3925 in Erie, MI, Teamsters, Local 20, and an honorary member of the Erie Volunteer Fire Dept.
Surviving are his loving wife, Deborah. Children, Jeremy (Cindy) Floyd of Temperance, MI, James (Kim) Floyd of Erie, MI, Colleen (Brian Sobecki) Floyd of Toledo, OH and Jennifer Floyd of Toledo, OH. Brother, Ronald (Kay) Floyd of Swanton, OH. Sisters, Cecilia (Leonard) Letke of Philadelphia, PA, Victoria Floyd of Dayton, OH, Elizabeth Floyd of Wauseon, OH and 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-9 pm at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where the VFW, Post 3925 will conduct services at 7:00 pm followed by Erie Volunteer Fire Dept. service at 7:30 Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am. Fr. Fred Kalaj, officiating. Interment will follow at LaSalle Twp. Cemetery, LaSalle Twp., MI. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or charity of the donor’s choice. |
