Charlotte
A. Felsted, age 84 of Temperance, MI, died
Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Lake Park, Sylvania,
OH. Born Oct. 23, 1923 in Bowling Green,
OH, she was the daughter of Dewayne and
Ruby Belle (Ryder) Felsted. Charlotte was
a 1941 graduate from Scott High School and
received her Bachelors of Home Economics
from BGSU in 1945. She then received her
Masters of Home Economics and Institutional
Administration from Michigan State University
in 1964. She also earned an Education Specialist
Degree in 1972 from the University of Toledo.
Charlotte taught both home economics and
science for the Bedford Public Schools for
27 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member
of the Lambertville United Methodist Church
, where she served in a variety of positions,
the Bedford Senior Center, Bedford Historical
Society, M.E.A. and was instrumental in
the building of the Bedford Library in its
current location. She was also an avid collector
in many different fields. Her hobbies included
crafting, stamps, coins, traveling and her
passion was genealogy.
Surviving
are 2 nieces, Barb Goodlock of Rockport
, TX and Sue Smith of Flint, MI. Nephew,
Bruce Felsted of Rockport, TX. Charlotte
was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Vernon
and Thomas Felsted and 1 sister, Lois Fraker.
Visitation
will be from 12 Noon to 1:00 pm Wednesday
at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640
Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where
funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm.
Rev. Thomas Zimmerman, officiating. Interment
will be private. Memorials may be made to
the Bedford Library.
