| Evelyn
M. DuVall, age 85 years of Erie, MI, died
Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Fountain View
of Monroe. Born Jan. 27, 1923 in Toledo,
OH, she was the daughter of Joseph and Edna
(LaVoy) Stark. A 1940 graduate from Monroe
High School, she married Carl “Put” DuVall
on Nov. 30, 1946 in St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Erie, MI, which she was a member.
He preceded her in death on May 5, 2001.
Evelyn was the former owner and operator
of Evelyn's Variety Shop in Erie. She was
past deputy treasurer for Erie Twp., past
president of the Erie Volunteer Fire Auxiliary,
and charter member of the Erie V.F.W. Auxiliary,
3925 since 1948. She was also the V.J. Day
parade chairman for 21 years, St. Joseph
Church Choir, organized and coached girl's
C.Y.O. Basketball, taught knitting and crocheting
classes at Mason and Bedford Schools. She
also enjoyed playing the organ.
Surviving
are her loving children, Anita (Garry) Kinsey,
Lonnie (Beth Ann) C. DuVall, Wendy (Angelocci)
DuVall and LuAnne DuVall. Grandchildren,
Tarry (Amy) Kinsey, Carrie (Shane) Larrow,
and Nicole and Mark Angelocci. Great grandchildren,
Courtney and Cooper Kinsey and Neve and
Wyatt Larrow. Sister-in-laws, Maxine and
Waneta Stark. Step-brother, Jack Jacobs.
Step-sister, Yvonnie Leach. Evelyn was also
preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters,
Audrey Diver, Jeanette Petee, and Dolores
Steinman. 5 brothers, Aaron, Merrell, Joseph,
Durward, and James Stark.
Sister-in-law,
Lu Stark, 3 brother-in-laws, Wilson Diver,
O'Neal Petee and Paul Steinman, step-sister,
Shirley Blessman.
Visitation
will be from 2-8 pm Tuesday at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd.
(at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where the
V.F.W. , Ladies Auxiliary will conduct
services at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian
Burial will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in
St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie , where
she will lie in state after 10:00 am .
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
