Margaret "Maggie" M. Dusseau, age 70 years of Erie, MI, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in her home. Born August 10, 1939 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Adrian and Ethel (Cousino) Iott. A 1957 graduate of Central Catholic in Toledo, OH, she married James "Peter" Dusseau on July 11, 1959 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI. Maggie served as Erie Twp. Supervisor and Clerk from 1976 to 1996. She then was employed by the MCOP as Director of Transportation for 7 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 7413, Ladies Auxiliary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Maggie loved music and started the Erie All Girl Jugs Band
Surviving are her loving husband of 50 years, James "Peter" Dusseau. Daughter, Andrea (Thomas) McGarry of Erie, MI, daughter in law, Lisa Dusseau of Temperance, MI. Sisters, Eleanor (James) Salisbury of Lambertville, MI, Kathleen Hannigan of Temperance, MI, Regina (John) Meszaros of Temperance, MI, Ruth Ellen (Jim) Ginther of Erie, MI and 6 grandchildren, Jon Pierre, Jacqueline, T.J., Andrew, Maggie and Jimmy. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Pierre Dusseau, sister, Donna M. DeGue, brothers in law, Hadley DeGue and Freddie Hannigan.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Fr. Fred Kalaj, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph School, Erie, MI.
