Arlen “Hoppy” U. Dusseau, 78 a lifetime Erie, MI. resident went to his eternal rest on Thursday, February 2, 2012, surrounded by his immediate family, relatives, and friends. Born December 15, 1933, in Erie, MI, he was the son of Aloysius “Wish” and Mildred (Morrin) Dusseau. Arlen and Beverly A. Hoffman were joined in Holy Matrimony October 6, 1956, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI where they are charter members. After farming with family for many years, Hoppy became a co-owner of a John Deere dealership called Dusseau’s Equipment Sales on Lewis Ave., in Temperance, MI, and still continued farming, eventually becoming the sole owner of the John Deere dealership keeping the name Dusseau’s. After 47 years in small and large farm equipment sales, Hoppy re-directed the business to Dusseau’s Reception Center and Catering. Hoppy retired in 1998, after selling the family business to his son Mark A. Dusseau, while upholding the family name Dusseau’s Reception Center and Catering. Although “retiring” Hoppy continued working at the hall until recently. He was a charter member (4th degree) of the K of C Council 7413 in Erie. Through the association he was a volunteer for bingo. With the help of his wife, he was an original founder of the Erie Food Closet. The Erie Food Closet is still housed in the K of C building in Erie, MI in which the K of C and Ladies Auxiliary are presently operating. He served as the Building Inspector for Erie Twp. Hoppy enjoyed playing his guitar and Bluegrass music, boating on Lake Erie, in Florida and at the summer home on Posey Lake. Fishing, playing Euchre, and having family and friends gatherings were always of great joy to him as well.

Surviving is his beautiful wife, Beverly A. (Hoffman) Dusseau, his three loving children, Mark A. (Kathy) Dusseau, Scott A. Dusseau, and Joy S. (Christopher) Dieter.
