Walter
Dindoffer, age 82 years of Lambertville,
MI and formerly of Milan and Birmingham,
MI, died Monday, September 04, 2006 in his
home. Born, Nov. 6, 1923 in Milan, MI, he
was the son of John and Elizabeth (Karafiat)
Dindoffer. A US Army veteran of WWII, Walter
was a Prisoner of War and received the Purple
Heart, 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Silver Campaign
Star and several other citations and decorations.
He married Lucille Rendel on Feb. 22, 1947
in Milan Baptist Church. He was a 1946 graduate
from Milan High School and received his
Bachelors of Education from Eastern Michigan
University in 1952. He had also attended
Wayne State University Engineering classes.
He was employed by Teledyne CAE for 35 years
retiring as Manager of Test Engineers in
1989. Prior, he was employed as a teacher
by Hazel Park High School from 1952-53.
Walter also served on the Bedford Township
Trustee Board for 22 years. He was a member
of the Ex-Prisoner of War, Wolverine Branch,
a charter member of the American Bohemian
Club and also attended Emmanuel Baptist
Church in Toledo.
He
is survived by his loving wife of 59 years,
Lucille. Sons, Fredrick (Joan) Dindoffer
of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Walter G. (Tamara)
Dindoffer of Temperance, MI, Timothy (DeLynn)
Dindoffer of Rocky Face, GA. Daughters,
Christina (David) Harro of Whitmore Lake,
MI and Janice (William) Hunt of Fairfield,
CT. Brother, John (Bonnie) Dindoffer of
Milan, MI. Grandchildren, Robert, Michael
and David Dindoffer, Joseph Harro, Diane,
Stephen and Gregory Hunt, Sarah (Kevin)
Anderson, Rachel and Emily Dindoffer, Elizabeth,
Benjamin, Rebekah and Samuel Dindoffer.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and brother, Carl Dindoffer.
Visitation
will be held Friday from 2-9 pm at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road,
(at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services
will be held Saturday at 10:30 am at Emmanuel
Baptist Church, 4207 West Laskey Rd. Toledo,
OH. Graveside services will be Saturday
at 2:30 pm at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan,
Michigan. Memorials may be made to the church
or Visiting Nurse Hospice.
