Marie Denniss, age 88 of Petersburg, MI and formerly of Ida, MI, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Mercy Memorial Nursing Center. Born April 29, 1922 in Temperance, MI, she was the daughter of Fredrick and Charlett (Sparks) Goldsmith. She married Donald H. Denniss on April 13, 1940 in Toledo, OH and enjoyed living on their farm in Ida for several years. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2001. She was a member of Bridgepoint Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Temperance) and Ida Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday school and Bible school. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, and flowers.
She is survived by her loving sons, Tom (Dee) Denniss of Petersburg, MI, Larry (Becki) Denniss of Petersburg, MI and Michael (Beverly) Denniss of Temperance, MI. Brother, Allen Goldsmith of California. 19 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm Tuesday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am. Reverend Craig Killinen, pastor of Bridgepoint Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Petersburg, MI.
