Larry Covrett, Sr. Age 64 years of Temperance, MI, died Friday, December 10, 2004 in his home. Born May 20, 1940 in Fostoria, OH , he was the son of Charles A. and Maxine (McVoy) Covrett. A Macomber High School graduate, he married Jane Quaintance on April 15, 1961 in St. Teresa Catholic Church in Toledo. Larry was a job setter for GM Powertrain in Toledo for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and U.A.W., Local 14 in Toledo. Larry was a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous, was the founder of the Bedford Monday Night A.A. Group, and participated in various other A.A. groups. He enjoyed fishing, watching his sons and grandkids play baseball, playing cards with his family, and playing the lottery.

Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Jane. Children, Tina (Phil) Young of Temperance, Larry (Katya) Covrett, Jr. of Gowen, MI, Tim (Dawn) Covrett of Erie, MI, Terry Covrett of Sylvania, OH, and Tom (Brenda) Covrett of Lambertville, MI. Brothers, James R. (Millie) Peterman of Findlay, OH and Melvin (Betty) Peterman of Prudenville, MI. Grandchildren, Paul, Cari, Cassie, Kaitlin, Christopher, Nikki, Ryan, Cali , Aaron and Elise and 1 great granddaughter, Nyla. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Ralph J. Hammer, brother, Ralph “Red” Hammer and sister, Jeannine Hammer. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m.– 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), where memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m.

A special thanks to our A.A. family, so many came and spent time with Larry this past 6 months. The family wishes to thank everyone who expressed concern and prayed for Larry as well as all who provided for his care. The family also extends a special thank you to Mercy Memorial Hospice, Pat, “Beverly Hillbilly”, and “Thelma & Louise”, for their kindness and compassion during this difficult journey. Memorials may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous or Mercy Memorial Hospice.
