Lucille Cousino, age 95 of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living, Lambertville , MI . Born Oct. 22, 1912 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Alvin (Louis) and Etta Sulier. Lucille graduated in 1931 from Central Catholic High School in Toledo and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in 1937. She married Bernard L. Cousino Nov. 6, 1937. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1981. They lived in Erie until moving to Temperance in 1970. While in Erie she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Lucille was also a member of the V-8 Club, Erie Rotarians, VFW Auxiliary, and was chairman of the Erie Summer Migrant Health Clinic in conjunction with the Monroe County Health Dept. She volunteered for several school functions at St. Joseph 's School, St. Mary's Academy and Catholic Central High Schools. While in Erie, Lucille attended china painting classes which she continued into her late 80's. They became members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where she participated in the funeral lunch program. They both loved to travel, play golf and spend time at their summer home on Wamplers Lake. They were also avid Notre Dame Football fans.

Lucille is survived her 2 sons, Neil (Joy) Cousino and Earl (Peg) Cousino, both of Erie, MI, Daughters, Carole (Don) Wielosinski of Temperance, MI, Lois (M.S.) Nozari of St. Paul, MN and Mary Etta (Peter) Hartwick of Asheville, NC. 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Extended family includes, Emil (Patsy) Gessler of Erie, MI, 4 children and 10 great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Harold, Paul, Norman, Edgar and Leroy Sulier and 3 sisters, Gladys DeGette, Mildred Sulier and Helen Snyder and great grandchild, Noah Momenee.

 

Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:30 am, where she will lie in state after 9:30 am. Fr. Daniel Nusbaum, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph  Cemetery, Erie, MI. Memorials may be made to Erie West Hospice, 7553 Secor Rd., Lambertville, MI  48144, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, SMCC  High School , Monroe, MI, or St. Joseph Education Fund, Erie, MI.
