Bruce
R. Chesney, age 84 years of Temperance,
MI, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 in
the Hospice of Northwest Ohio Inpatient
Unit, Toledo. Born Sept. 5, 1922 in Maynardsville,
TN, he was the son of John and Rebecca (Milderbarger)
Chesney. A WWII Navy veteran, he married
Pauline Cardwell on Sept. 19, 1949 in Toledo,
OH. She preceded him in death on March 19,
1999. Bruce was employed as an engineer
for CSX Railroad for 37 years, retiring
in 1983. He was a member of the American
Legion, 514 in Ida, MI and the Brotherhood
of Locomotive Engineers.
Surviving
are his loving children, Ronald Chesney
of Lambertville, MI, Vernon (Leslie) Chesney
of Lambertville, MI, Karen (Dave) Bauerschmidt
of Toledo, OH, Carol (Gaspare) Pirrone of
Temperance, MI, and Kevin Chesney of Temperance,
MI. Brother, Gordon (Wilma) Chesney of LaSalle,
MI. Sisters, Roxatine Bryant of Sharps Chapel,
TN and Ruby Haggard of Halls Crossroads,
TN, 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Bruce was also preceded in death by his
granddaughter, Vanessa Rae Pirrone, 6 brothers,
Nelson, Arnold, Berton, Joe, Pryor and Jake
Chesney and 2 sisters, Nerva Whited and
Oma Hayes.
Visitation
will be held Monday from 2-9 pm at the Michael
W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Road
(at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral
services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice
of Northwest Ohio. The
family would like to express their heartfelt
gratitude to the Hospice staff for the loving
care given to their Father during his illness.
