Richard
“Rick” A. Carter, 62 years of Erie, MI,
died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 in Monroe.
Born, Dec. 28, 1942 in Temperance, MI,
he was the son of Richard J. and Dorothy
(Hiteshew) Carter. A US Army veteran,
He married Judith I. Olmstead in Oct.
of 1971 in Toledo, OH. He owned and operated
Richard A. Carter Trucking for the past
25 years, currently hauling for Landstar.
He previously worked for the former Jones
Transfer and the Dana Corporation. Rick
was an active & charter member of
the Elliott R. Smith American Legion,
Post 191, Lambertville, currently holding
the post of Sergeant of Arms. He was also
an active member of the 40 and 8 in Temperance.
He spent considerable time delivering
food to several seniors citizens, school
supplies to under privileged children.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Judith. Children,
Trilby (John) Krumn of Erie, MI, Lawrence
(Chris) Emerson of Monroe, MI, Lisa S.
Emerson of Monroe, MI, Shannon (Allen)
Sargent of Erie, MI, and Krystal (Lee)
Norris of Colonial Heights, VA. Sisters,
Jackie (Dewayne) Herrero of Foley, Alabama
and JoAnn (Dan) Bialecki of Whitehouse,
OH. 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents,
1 brother and 1 sister.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2-9 pm in the
Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith
Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, where funeral
services will be held Wednesday at 11:00
a.m.
