Donald “Don” E. Busser, age 78 of Lambertville, MI, died Thursday, February 03, 2011 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Born August 10, 1932 in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Gilbert) Busser. A US Navy veteran of the Korean War, he married Helen L. Bedee on August 6, 1955 in Petersburg, MI. Don had been employed by Tillotson, Teledyne and Champion, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Bridgepoint Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Temperance) and the American Legion, Post 191, Lambertville, MI. He enjoyed camping, fishing, navy reunions, building model airplanes and boats, but most of all spending time with his family that he loved so much.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Helen. Daughters, Diane (Randy) Carnahan and Cindy (Doug) Reiter. Grandchildren, Brent Carnahan, Stacy (Eric) Swank, Lindsey and Casey Reiter. Don was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Paul and Jack and 2 sisters, Charlotte and Jane.
Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Tuesday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in Bridgepoint Church, where he will lie in state after 9:00 am. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Bridgepoint Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
