| Harry J. Burtscher, age 83 years of Erie, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Regency Hospital of Toledo. Born March 19, 1926 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Harry G. and Margaret (Branstetter) Burtscher. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he married Virginia "Ginny" Sturniolo on May 1, 1948 in Toledo, OH. Harry was employed as manufacturing supervisor for the former Toledo Plate and Window Glass for 10 years, retiring in 1990. Prior, he worked for the former Toledo Beaver Tool in Toledo, OH. He was an active member of Crossroads Community Church, where he was a greeter on Kid's Street.
Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Ginny. Children, Toni (Ed) Boyce of Dana Point, CA, Butch (Diana) Burtscher of Aurora, CO, Fred (Shelia) Burtscher of Waterville, OH, Mark (Misti) Burtscher of Temperance, MI, Shelly (Barry) Christy of Erie, MI and Eddie (Jenny) Burtscher of Waterville, OH. 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Mary Robinson and brother-in-law, Richard Kenoyer.
Visitation will be from 3-9 pm Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Crossroads Community Church (US 23 at Sterns Rd.) Ottawa Lake, MI, where he will lie in state after 12:30 pm. Pastors Dean Angell and Glenn Teal, officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Community Church or charity of the donor's choice. |
