Gerald “Jerry” J. Budy, age 74 of Toledo, OH, died Saturday, November 20, 2010 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Born November 1, 1936 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of John and Lydia (Krawczynski) Budy. A US Marine Corp veteran, he married Gloria J. Duenas on July 5, 1958. Jerry was employed for 34 years for GM Powertrain, retiring in 1999. He was a long-time member of Adam’s Conservation Club in Toledo, UAW, Local 14, and called Bingo for several organizations in the area. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance, MI, a past member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church in Toledo, Mother of Mercy Rosary Group in Maybee, MI and a faithful Eucharist Holy Hour Adorer. Jerry was an avid bow hunter, camper, hockey and auto racing fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gloria. Sons, Keith (Denise) Budy of Lambertville, MI and Scott (Brenda) Budy of Sylvania, OH. 5 Grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew Budy, Samantha (Keil) Cribbs and Casey and Carson Budy. 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Ava. Sister, Ruth “Bootsie” (Ronald) Olejownick and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and Step-Mother, Florence Koester.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where a Rosary will be Monday at 5:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am. Fr.
