Daniel
J. Bonkoski, age 69 years of Erie, MI, died
Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in his home surrounded
by his family. Born, Sept. 9, 1938 in Toledo,
Ohio, he was the son of John and Martha
(Jasinski) Bonkoski. He married Joan Roof
on Oct. 28, 1961 in Ida, MI. Daniel was
Erie Township Supervisor from 1996-2004
and 2006. He retired from the former Doehler-Jarvis
in Toledo, OH in 1992 after 36 years of
service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Erie and the Knights of Columbus,
Council 7413, where he was past Grand Knight
from 1981-1983 and served as financial secretary.
Surviving
are his loving wife, Joan. Children, Raymond
(Barbara) Bonkoski of LaSalle, MI, Veronica
(Joseph) Smith of Temperance, MI and Julie
(Pat) Foley of Erie, MI . Brother, Bernard
(Evelyn) Bonkoski of Toledo, OH, sister,
Camellia Meek of Genoa, OH and 9 grandchildren.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents
and daughter, Elizabeth Bonkoski.
Visitation
will be held from 6-9 pm Thursday and 3-9
pm Friday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral
Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance,
MI, where the Knights of Columbus, Council
7419, will pray the rosary Friday at 7:00
pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held
Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Erie, MI, where he will lie in state
after 9:30 am. Fr. Fred Kalaj, officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to express a special thanks
to the entire staff of Hospice of Northwest
Ohio for the wonderful care given to Dan
during his illness. Memorials may be made
to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
