Dorothy L. Bell, age
87 of Lambertville, MI and formerly of Saint
Paris, Ohio and Holly Hill, S.C. passed
away at 2:20 p.m. on May 26, 2007 in Aspen
Grove Care Center in Lambertville. She was
born on April 14, 1920 in St. Paris, Ohio,
the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel
Garver. She married A. Kelley Bell
on June 1, 1957 and he preceded her in death
on May 13, 1999.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law,
John T. "Tim" and Pam Conway of Temperance,
MI.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Dick
(Barb) Conway and Julie (Ryan) Riley; and
great-grandchildren, John Andrew Conway
and Benjamin Kelley Conway. A sister-in-law,
Ruthana Garver of Urbana, Ohio also survives
as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband,
Dorothy was preceded in death by brother
Kenneth Garver, and sisters Nellie B. Smith
and Barbara Baum. Dorothy was a member
of the Hope Lutheran Church in Vance, S.C.
where she participated in their Outreach
program. She was a 1938 graduate of
Saint Paris High School. Her husband,
Kelley, was a teacher and school principal
and she was a school secretary in St. Paris.
She enjoyed flower arranging, gardening
and canning.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday,
May 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Covenant
Lutheran Church, Corner of Main Street and
Church Street, Saint Paris, Ohio. Reverend
Isabelle Steele will preside. Visitation
for family and friends will be from 10 a.m.
until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
on Wednesday in the church. Burial will
follow in Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association, Northwest
Ohio Chapter, 2500 N. Reynolds Road, Toledo,
Ohio 43615-2820. Envelopes will be
available in the church. Atkins-Shively
Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street,
Saint Paris, Ohio is serving the family.
