Donald
“Don” J. Beck, age 90 years of Temperance,
MI, died Monday, September 17, 2007 in Hospice
of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg Twp., OH.
Born March 12, 1917 in Ottawa Lake , MI
, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth
(Heiss) Beck. A US Air Force veteran of
WWII, Don married Marian
Kinsey on Oct. 19, 1937 in Angola, IN.
She preceded him in death on May 23, 2007.
Don was employed as a shipping clerk by
the Dura Corporation for over 37 years,
retiring on May 31, 1980 . He was also a
farmer for 9 years. In his youth, he played
hockey, trumpet, and sang in a male quartet
for the church. Don was a loving husband,
father and grandfather, who will be greatly
missed.
He
is survived by his loving daughters, Joan
(Dennis) Beebe of Tulsa, OK and Pat (Henry)
Mossburg of Temperance, MI. 6 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Leonard,
Lester, Clyde, Roy and Willis Beck and 4
sisters, Helen Clampitt, Florence Glanzman,
Ethel Miller and Ila Geiser.
Visitation
will be held Thursday from 2-9 pm at the
Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith
Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral
services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Emmanuel
Baptist Church in Toledo , where he will
lie in state after 10:00 am. Interment will
follow in Whiteford Union Cemetery, Whiteford
Twp., MI. Pastor Bruce Snyder, officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist
Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
