Marjorie Abel, age 80 a lifelong resident of Lambertville, MI, died Friday, November 5, 2010 in Regency Hospital of Toledo. Born, January 3, 1930 in Lambertville, MI, she was the daughter of Harold and Hattie (Janney) Kronk. A 1948 graduate of Bedford Public Schools, she married Norbert Abel on June 16, 1949. She and her husband own and operate the Olde Schoolhouse Commons in Lambertville, MI for the past 25 years. Marjorie was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Temperance and The Lambertville Pride. She was a former member of the Bedford Garden Club, and the Bedford Historical Society. She formerly owned and operated Abel’s Acres Antiques. She was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed a lifetime of family gatherings.
Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Norbert. Children, Deborah (Drew) Chany, Rollie (Jane) Abel, Jennifer (Donald) Trojan, Diane Anastasoff, Christine (Edward) Zak and Craig Abel. Brother, Jerry (Jan) Kronk. Sister, Pat (Charles) Jones. Brother-in-law, Dale Benore. 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Susan Benore and granddaughter, Lindsay Nicole Abel.
Visitation will be held from 3-9 pm Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Temperance, MI, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Fr. Brian Hurley, pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will follow at Lambertville Cemetery. Memorials may be to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Lambertville United Methodist Church or the Bedford Community Foundation Scholarship Fund. |
